I got good news upon arriving home yesterday from our amazing tour in the South Pacific. First, the album we were touring made it to #3 on the Billboard reggae charts while we were out. I’m proud to announce that The Magic Hourglass won a Telly Award. This is the second Telly I have received in a collaboration with director Robert Rollins, and I look forward to scoring his feature film Dream Country later this year.
A nice review of The Magic Hourglass and my score for it was written by Mark Sevi for the Orange County Screenwriters. The Magic Hourglass is a mystery/fantasy film that I scored last year, written and directed by Robert Rollins.
The film score for Magic Hourglass is complete! It was mixed by John Rodd and sounds fantastic. If you are a film composer you should try to work with him. Check out the first three samples on my Demos page to hear it.
The recording of the film score for Magic Hourglass was a success! I recorded the music over several days, and these wonderful players came in for the last day. Directing players is always a composer’s favorite part of the process, and director Robert Rollins was able to sit in with us too. The musicians in Los Angeles are the best.
I was on set today with director Robert Rollins for our next project “The Magic Hourglass”, a fantasy/adventure film. I will start composing the film score in early 2011.
